CALL FOR POSTERS FOR UNDERGRADUATE POSTER COMPETITION

GPSA UNDERGRADUATE POSTER COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS

COMPETITION DATE:  November 6 during the Annual Conference

DIVISION:  Undergraduate Only

ELIGIBILITY:  The poster competition is open to currently enrolled undergraduate student members of GPSA.  To become a member, register for the current year conference ($10).   

FACULTY SPONSOR:  Each submission must be sponsored by a faculty member who is a current member of GPSA (has paid 2019 conference registration).  The faculty sponsor must write a short email indicating that the work presented is student work. This email must accompany the submitted poster.

THE POSTER PRESENTATION: There are no strict guidelines for the poster content or format. In addition to a heading that details the title of the work, along with the presenter’s name and the school he/she represents, posters typically include the following sections:

  • Introduction (or Purpose)
  • Objective (or Research Question)
  • Methodology
  • Results (or Findings)
  • Discussion (or Conclusion)
  • References

Posters should be no larger than 36″ high x 48″ wide.  The presenter is responsible for providing an easel.  Mounting supplies such as pushpins and Velcro will not be provided.

Poster presentation entries should be emailed in digital form on or before October 15th, 2019 to provide adequate time for review.  A PDF file or PowerPoint – 1 slide is acceptable.  Poster presenters are responsible for poster board displays the day of the presentation.

Posters will be on display for a particular period of time during the conference.  Poster presenters are expected to be present during the poster session and be prepared to discuss their work with judges and other conference attendees. 

Judging criteria will include:

  • Quality of oral presentation
  • Poster appearance and organization
  • Research purpose and methodology
